Zeds spawn as close to the the player as they can so long as the player is not visible to the spawn point (not based on the player FoV). Kinda hard to hold solo unless a 1 way enterance like in prison guard tower, santa's workshop (endless), or containment station by welding a door, but once they break so will the zeds break in. On solo you gotta keep moving JUST KEEP MOVING. ![]() They tend to spawn close but behind cover unless you run and zed time gets triggered while someone kills a ton of zeds, then they can spawn literally right in front of you b/c i guess the system treats zed time as oh you were here before zed time and even moving in real time, i'll just spawn the zeds directly to the side of you where you can see them. ![]() Zeds, despite spawns, will almost never spawn directly in front of you. You just gotta find the right locations and position yourselves in good spots that can cover larger areas. Always have a medic or dedicated big zed hunter in the middle for when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan. Have enough room to fallback, but close enough so zeds can't spawn next to you directly or in between each other. Anymore and you'll get surrounded or harder to hold an area. If not spread out and have the big zeds in the center in a large area with only 2-4 max spawnpoints. You just gotta find the right spots to camp in and narrow areas are death sentences unless you got 2 firebugs with flamethrowers and groundfire on each side to clear trash and the rest demos to clear scrakes and fleshpounds quickly. Honestly spawns were reworked and devs confirmed that HoE and suicidal spawns are supposed to be close by to simulate the feeling of being surrounded. Poor spawning is not fun at all neither is it a good challenge, its more frustrating getting cornered because of so many things spawning on you or right next to you and you lose health so quickly before you're able to react. The thing is, unless you have a god-tier team, it's impossible to get past rounds on maps like these, which shouldn't be the case. Unless you have a team full of zerkers or you're on normal/hard, you WILL not survive that round 99% of the time because how easy you can get cornered by FP/QP/SC/GF. Take Lockdown for example, one of Lockdown's areas has a small hallway and a slightly bigger walkway. When it comes to smaller or narrow maps, spawns shouldn't be ridiculous to the point where you get cornered by gorefasts/fidgetspinners every 2 seconds. Better yet in a scenario one of our teammates were in during the match, a fleshpound spawns ontop of him with a bunch of husks and gorefasts chasing him down in the hallway. Whether it'd be 3 scrakes and 2 fleshpounds spawning nearby or zeds spawning ontop of you. Just played a game on Suicidal on Evacuation Point and had multiple issues with spawning during the match.
